Kittywake - delivering a unique, curriculum based, interactive and educational experience for hundreds of children across the North west since 2007.

Cruising with Kittywake canal cruises offers an opportunity to learn about events beyond living memory, heritage, culture of the canal network, cotton mills and the coal industry.  Our enthusiastic historian (also a qualified TA) brings to life tales of the industrial revolution with costumes, artefacts and lock working experiences; for children and adults alike.

Crew hold up to date DBS Certificates.

Historic Canal Cruise from Wigan Pier

Total Time: 2 Hour 30 Minutes

Maximum 80 children & 12 Adults (Split into 2 groups)

Group One:

Cruising on Elleswake with Disabled Access Lift & Free Wi-Fi

Lock Working Experience for all children during Cruise

Group Two:

1-hour Guided Walk around Wigan Pier Heritage Area

Observe the Boat Navigate a Lock from the Canal Side
